On playing in Marn Grook at the SCG

"No, it's pretty good, a good feeling during the week. We've been doing more cultural stuff off-site this week, so the lead-up to it's been good. It'll be my first one, but yeah, keen for playing it."

On the club's cultural activity this week

"Yeah, we've got all the past players here, Indigenous past players... They were excited to be here. It's good to see and what the club put into the ground, so I like that. I think it's just giving back to the community. We were all in Redfern on Monday and going to check out the history and culture behind what happened in Redfern and yeah, it's just good to see."

On First Nations athletes playing AFL

"I think it's a big thing. As you'd read, the percentage of Indigenous players is getting pretty low, getting drafted, so just kind of keeping that connection."

On his family's support

"Yeah, ever since I've been little I've been really close to my family and I think the past few years since I got drafted they've supported me, so yeah, I think they're very special. Mum actually surprised me coming here, so yeah, I didn't know. I think it was like a Guernsey presentation, that was the last time I saw her."

On past First Nations players for the Swans

"I used to watch Jeddah a lot when I was younger, Adam Goodes. It's definitely a big culture, a different culture at the Swans from where I was. There's a lot of history behind this club and especially Indigenous players, they've been very successful, yeah, I think that's what the biggest thing was for me."

On his form

"I just try to come in and just play a role and nail my role, that was the main thing. It's all trying to nail and play our role and so we win, so I think that's the main focus. I just bring more speed in that forward line and more pressure and other stuff comes from that."

On the role of his grandmother

"My grandmother's been a big part of my life, she's kind of been my hero growing up, been someone I can always talk to and be there for me, and even though I'm away from home a lot, she's always one call away or a message away and she's had a big impact on the Northern Territory and she plays a good role in that and she's a good role model I think for a lot of young people."

On Malcolm's support network in the team

"All the boys are good. Nick Blakey, he's good. He's been supportive and helping me out. Patrick Snell, he's one of the younger boys. He's pretty close to them. Riak Andrew and all of them, they're pretty good boys. I'm kind of just going at my own pace."

On playing under Dean Cox

"I think it's what you put in with Coxy and he respects that. Do the hard yards and he'll respect you and he'll give you a reward. I think I just come here and play off instinct but do it in a structural and system-based way."
