The Sydney Swans have made six changes to the team who defeated Brisbane last week for a mouth-watering Round 18 Sydney Derby on Saturday morning.
Forward Billy Cootee has been rewarded for his 5-goal, 19 disposal game last week to be called up into the AFL side with Harry Kyle also elevated this week with Harry Cunningham under AFL concussion protocols.
AFL listed players Lewis Melican and Angus Sheldrick come into the VFL side and the Swans will also welcome back the consistent Mitch Mellis as well as Oscar Davis and Kaden Harbour who also come into the side for a big Sydney Derby.
QBE Sydney Swans Academy player Jake Medved will also make his VFL debut. The 191cm midfield/defender has only made the move to Australian Rules from touch football last season but made an impact with his athleticism and speed to be selected in the 2026 Allies team.
The Round 18 fixture is a crucial one as a fight for a finals spot ramps up. With just four matches remaining in the regular season there is a log-jam on the VFL ladder from 4th to 10th place.
The fourth placed Swans (38 points) sit just two points ahead of the Giants (36 points). Both teams have recorded nine wins and five losses, however the Giants have one game in hand.
The match starts at 12.35pm at ENGIE Stadium, a prequel to the AFL Sydney Derby at 4.35pm.
