VFL and AFLW in action at Tramway Oval this weekend

Our AFL team are on the road this weekend playing in Melbourne but don't worry Sydneysiders, your footy fix is sorted with both the VFL and AFLW team in action in the harbour city.

The third placed Swans VFL side will face Tasmania in an important fixture on Saturday at Tramway Oval with the action starting at 11.05am.

The Sellers and Colless Centre, Sydney Swans HQ foyer, will be open 9.30–11.30am Saturday and members and fans are encouraged to grab a coffee or pick up the latest Swans kit from The Locker Room before heading up to Tramway pre-game.

The Sydney Swans AFLW side will also be in action and host the GWS Giants at Tramway Oval this Sunday, August 2 from 2:35pm.

This weekend's match simulation will be the fourth game of their pre-season, following matches with Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Hawks last week.

Sunday double header at the SCG confirmed

On Thursday, the AFL confirmed that the Sydney Swans will cap off their regular season with Sunday afternoon fixtures at the MCG and SCG.

In great news for red and white members and fans in Sydney, the Sydney Swans AFLW side will feature as a double header on Sunday, August 23, with the Round Two fixture to feature on the SCG before the AFL Round 24 fixture.  

Be at the SCG on Sunday afternoon for a great afternoon of footy as the AFL side also prepare to launch into their Finals campaign.

AFLW Captain commits

Sydney Swans AFLW captain Lucy McEvoy has locked in her future with the red and white, signing on with the club for another five seasons until at least the end of 2031.

Executive General Manager – AFLW Football, Kate Mahony said the club is thrilled to secure McEvoy for at least the next five seasons.

“Since arriving at the club, Lucy has shown tremendous dedication and she is integral to where the team is heading,” Mahony said.

“She is a fantastic leader of our group, and she should be applauded for her consistency, the girls all walk taller with Lucy alongside them. We are so excited that she has committed her future to the Swans.”

We're back in Melbourne this weekend!

It’s been a long wait, but the Swans finally return to Melbourne this Saturday for a big clash against the Saints this Saturday at Marvel Stadium.
