Cynthia Hamilton is set to mark her 50th game this coming weekend when the Sydney Swans take on North Melbourne down at Arden Street Oval this Sunday afternoon.

The occasion is a special moment for Hamilton and the Sydney AFLW program as she becomes the first player to reach the 50th game milestone, having played all 50 games with the Swans.

“Playing 50 games for the Swans is honestly a dream come true,” Hamilton said.

“I think also the fact that all of my 50 games have been at the Swans makes it extra special. I have so much faith and love for our team, so doing it alongside the girls means so much, and especially under Colin is super special. [It’s] very exciting times.”

Hamilton joined the Swans with the club’s third selection in the 2022 AFLW Draft, pick 11 overall. Hamilton was touted as one of the best NSW/ACT talents of her draft year; the talented forward/midfielder from the Queanbeyan Tigers was an All-Australian in the 2021 NAB AFLW U19 Championships.

A part of the inaugural Swans AFLW side, Hamilton quickly burst onto the AFLW scene in her debut season, kicking three goals and notching up 98 disposals before going on to win the inaugural Sydney Swans AFLW Club Champion.

“Being an inaugural player, I think that just makes it feel so much special when you look at the girls around you, and you realise there's, I think, seven of us left that have been here since the beginning of the build and are still here to continue building the steps up to make us the best club in the league, Hamilton said.

“It's very exciting to keep building our program alongside the girls that have been here since the beginning.”

The 22-year-old was also named one of two new vice-captains for the 2026 season, alongside Sofia Hurley.

Having shared her 50 games alongside her older sister Lexi, the Hamilton sisters have been an integral part of the AFLW program both on and off the field, and both sisters will celebrate their 50th game just one week apart.

“I think it's pretty special to both be playing a milestone game this year. I'm always proud of Lex, and I think what she's done and her resilience is amazing,” Hamilton said.

Fans and members can watch Cynthia play her 50th AFLW game in the red and white this Sunday on Channel Seven, Fox Footy or Kayo Sports from 1:00 PM.
