On Thursday night, the Club held the 2026 Sydney Swans AFL Awards at the Sydney Town Hall.
From the Bob Skilton Medal to the Rising Star Award, the evening recognised the contributions and achievements from the 2026 season, acknowledging the individuals across the AFL playing group whose efforts helped shape the year.
The first award of the night was presented to the VFL Development Squad - Player of the Year, Mitch Mellis. Mellis featured in 15 VFL matches this season, booting 14 goals and averaging 21 disposals. The VFL Player of the Year was awarded to Patrick Snell, who featured in 19 VFL games, averaging 17 disposals and five marks.
Following a breakout season, Will Edwards was awarded the Rising Star Award. After making his debut in Round 7, Edwards featured in 14 games, averaging 10 disposals and seven spoils. Edwards joins fellow defenders Dane Rampe (2014), Lewis Melican (2017) and Nick Smith (2009) as winners of the award.
The Barry Round Best Clubman Award was awarded to joint winners, captain Callum Mills and first-year Swan Billy Cootee.
The Dennis Carroll Award for the Most Improved Player was awarded to Jai Serong. Serong averaged 18 disposals and five marks in his first season for the red and white.
Logan McDonald won the Paul Roos, Best Player in Finals Award, after booting a team-high nine goals in the finals campaign. McDonald kicked a career-high six goals and recorded six marks in the Qualifying Final win over Brisbane.
Following a dominant first year as a Swan, which also saw him win his third Coleman Medal, Charlie Curnow was awarded the Peter Bedford Trophy. Curnow kicked 75 goals across 24 games including two finals.
Brodie Grundy capped another stellar season by claiming his second consecutive Adam Goodes Trophy. He averaged 20 disposals, 34 hit-outs and six clearances. The ruck was also recognised by his peers, taking out the Player’s Player Award. He joins Luke Parker, Josh Kennedy, Adam Goodes and Barry Hall as a two-time Players’ Player Award winner.
Isaac Heeney won the Bob Skilton Medal, having received the most votes from the coaching panel throughout the season. Heeney polled 431 points over 20 games, averaging 29 disposals, and six clearances. It is Heeney’s third consecutive Bob Skilton Medal, after also finishing in the top 10 of the Brownlow Medal count this year.
