The Sydney Swans’ 2018 campaign delivered a host of goals to remember, with gun forward Lance Franklin, a number of other established stars and a long list of youngsters all adding to the highlights reel.

Swans Media runs an eye over three of the best below as 2018 rounds to a close.

Tom McCartin
Round 20
Sydney Swans v Collingwood, SCG

Young Sydney forward Tom McCartin sealed a two-point win over Collingwood in Round 20 with a miraculous goal at the death. The youngest player in the AFL at the time, McCartin connected a desperate boot with the ball while sprawled across the turf. The Sherrin would dribble home to put the SCG crowd in raptures and deliver McCartin an AFL Goal of the Year nomination.

Lance Franklin
Round 3
Sydney Swans v GWS, SCG

Franklin stunned the footy world once again as Sydney powered to a 16-point win over GWS in Round 3. The four-time Coleman Medallist collected the footy just inside the centre square, palmed off the Giants’ Nick Hayne and slammed home a goal from 70 metres out. The long-range effort earned Franklin an AFL Goal of the Year nomination.

Luke Parker
Round 1
West Coast Eagles v Sydney Swans, Optus Stadium

Star Sydney midfielder Luke Parker turned himself inside out and back to front in the Swans’ opening clash of their 2018 season. The two-time Bob Skilton Medallist juggled a long-range kick on the edge of the goal square, threw himself in the air like an acrobat and pulled off an unbelievable bicycle kick. Parker’s effort stunned the 53,553-strong crowd and earned him an AFL Goal of the Year nomination.
