North Melbourne and Sydney have both been hit by late changes ahead of Sunday's clash at Etihad Stadium.

The Roos have lost tagger Ben Jacobs and replaced him with young midfielder Luke Davies-Uniacke.

Jacobs returned last week after several weeks out with the lingering effects of delayed concussion and had 26 disposals against the Suns, but is a late withdrawal for the third time in four weeks.

The club says Jacobs will miss the game with further concussion symptoms and neck soreness.

The Swans will be without key defender Heath Grundy, who the club says has been "managed". Backman Harry Marsh has come into the Sydney line-up for Grundy.

It shapes as an important clash for both sides, with the Swans coming off last week's loss to Geelong and keen to stay in the hunt for a top-four berth.

North Melbourne has fallen outside the top eight but would jump back inside with a win over the Swans.
