In summation...

It was a slow start to the 2017 season for Gary Rohan, as the speedster battled to overcome back soreness during the pre-season which delayed his campaign until Round 5.

The luckless forward was then involved in a heavy collision against Carlton the following week, but was cleared of serious damage and only missed two matches.

He settled as an important member of the forward line, showing consistency as the season progressed.

A career-high five goals against Gold Coast in Round 16 solidified his role as a crafty and damaging forward after floating back in moments throughout the season.

The most dramatic of scenes for the Swans' entire season came at the SCG against Essendon in Round 14 when Rohan marked in the goal square with just seconds remaining on the clock.

It was a win for the ages as the 26-year-old slotted the goal after the siren to seal a remarkable come-from-behind win for his side.

Round 16 v Gold Coast at SCG
Rohan's full arsenal was on full display at the SCG in Round 16 against the Gold Coast. He flew high for marks, ran down opponents with his pace and slotted goals from every angle in an exhilarating performance. Rohan finished the match with a career-high five goals to go along with nine marks and 15 disposals.

What they said...

"His pressure and his clean ball handling was of an incredibly high level, so it was great to see him play that kind of footy. He's very hard to contain when he's running around like that because of his speed and his hardness, but he was also really composed tonight, and that made the reward for his efforts so much greater."
- John Longmire speaking after Rohan’s Round 16 performance against Gold Coast.
