In form pair Kurt Tippett and Adam Goodes look set to play an important role in the Swans’ forward set up for Saturday night’s Semi Final against North Melbourne.

In the absence of Lance Franklin (illness) and Sam Reid (hamstring) the Swans will be looking to the experienced duo to help them kick a winning score at ANZ Stadium.

Tippett has played a dual role this season splitting his time between the ruck and up forward where he has kicked 42 goals.

After a slow start to the season Goodes has kicked 23 goals including three bags of three, one of which came against North Melbourne in Round 11.

Co-captain Jarrad McVeigh expects his side to try a number of different players in the forward half of the ground on Saturday night in an attempt to kick a winning score.

“You want your best players playing footy at this time of year and there is no secret about that. We will have a few different options up there,” McVeigh said.

“Tippo has been playing really well the last couple of months so he will be down there a bit more and Goodsey has hit some good form as well.

“We will have a young fella come in this week, I am not too sure who it will be but we just have to find a way.

“Our defence is intact and our midfield is playing well so we just need to get the score on the board whatever way possible and I am confident we can do that.”

Coming off arguably the best game of his 16-game career, Dean Towers looms large as a genuine target, while James Rose and Toby Nankervis are waiting in the wings and are ready for another opportunity at senior level.

Both players have shown glimpses of brilliance throughout the season with Nankervis playing five matches in the absence of big man Mike Pyke.

Rose made his debut against GWS in Round 21 coming on as the substitute in the last quarter and kicking three goals in eight minutes.
