Sydney is bursting with excitement to return to what vice-captain Luke Parker calls the ‘little colosseum’ for a clash with North Melbourne on Saturday.

The Swans will return to the SCG for the first time since facing the Crows in Round 5.

It will mark the Swans’ fourth home game of the season after matches with Port Adelaide, GWS and Adelaide.

A NEAFL fixture against the Giants proceeded the senior side’s Round 3 match with GWS and the reserves will play another AFL curtain-raiser against the Aspley Hornets on Saturday.

Blossoming midfielder Isaac Heeney says the side is always eager to greet the Swans faithful at home.

“It’s amazing to be home,” Heeney said.

“It’s good to be here and in front of a home crowd and hopefully we can bring it from the get-go because we know North Melbourne are a great side.

“The NEAFL boys get pumped up and it’s good for us to come in and have something to watch and support the other fellas that are trying to push for a senior spot."

Adding to the vigour is the Swans’ epic comeback win over the Cats on Saturday.

Coach John Longmire had spoken of the immense challenge Geelong would pose at GMHBA Stadium and the quality of the star Cats on-ballers.

Skipper Joel Selwood (23 touches) and Patrick Dangerfield (22) turned in solid games for the Cats, while fellow midfielder Mitch Duncan raked in a Cats-high 24 possessions and finished with seven tackles.

But the Swans were able to rise above the formidable Cats midfield and a raucous Kardinia Park crowd to clinch a 17-point win.

The Swans faced a 22-point deficit at the final change but stormed home in a five-goals-to-one final quarter.

Heeney said the come-from-behind win had given Sydney plenty of momentum ahead of another huge clash with North Melbourne.

“The squad is feeling really good,” Heeney said.

“It was a great win on the weekend to dig deep and they threw a lot at us and we had to respond in the fourth quarter and we did. That’s exciting and it’s given us a lot of confidence.

“Anyone needs a win no matter who you’re playing but against a quality side like Geelong was extremely important. We know they’re going to be premiership contenders this year and for us to dig deep and get the win was enormous.

“To go down there against such a hostile crowd and such an amazing team it does rank up there with one of my favourite wins. You can see the excitement on the boys’ faces and it shows that it was a great win.”
