Bio

Ryan O’Keefe made his AFL debut in round 10 of the 2000 season, having been drafted to the Sydney Swans at selection 56 in the previous year’s National Draft. One of only four players to have played in both the 2005 and 2012 Premierships, Ryan also has the distinction of being the Club’s only Norm Smith Medallist – a result of his extraordinary 2012 grand final, in which he had 29 possessions (12 contested), 4 marks and a remarkable 15 tackles. His contribution to the 2005 Premiership was no less significant, as he virtually won the Preliminary Final against St Kilda off his own boot, with 24 possessions, ten marks, four tackles and two goals, in a display of football artistry which will long be remembered by Swans supporters. Club Champion in 2009 and All-Australian in 2006, Ryan retired from football at the conclusion of the 2014 season after 287 games, and as one of this Club’s most decorated players.
