Nominations are now open for the 12th Philips Sports Dad of the Year Award. Your nominations will help select the 10 finalists for this year’s award, with the winner announced on Father’s Day.

Sydney Swans players who juggle football and fatherhood include Josh Kennedy, Sam Reid, Lance Franklin and George Hewett.

Two Swans greats, Brett Kirk and Jude Bolton, have previously won the award. They both donated their winnings to RedKite where the funds were used to support children and young people with cancer.

Last year’s award was won by the NRL’s Benji Marshall, who donated his winnings to Ronald McDonald House Charities in Sydney. The funds helped the facility manage the recent changes brought about by Covid-19.

The Award recognises sporting fathers who make positive impressions in the community, with previous winners donating up to $10,000 to their charity of choice.
