After extensive repairs following damage caused by flooding in February, all areas of Club Swans apart from the function room have now been reopened and are fully functional. We encourage all Swans supporters to continue to support CLUB SWANS.

Please find below some Q & A responses we believe will be helpful for member’s consideration prior to the meeting.
Question: Why is CLUB SWANS considering changing its trading name?
Answer: Since the Club opened as CLUB SWANS it has become a popular venue for not only Swans members and supporters but also for other AFL supporter groups and sporting codes that have enjoyed the facilities to view all sports.
Whilst the Club has attracted bookings for rugby union, soccer, netball, fencing, boxing as well as other social events it has become evident that the name may be restrictive in attracting a broader range of patrons. This has prompted the challenge of choosing a name that holds both a special importance for Sydney Swans Fans, and is also recognised by all sports fans in general.
Question: Why Cazalys?
Answer: Roy Cazaly is an iconic Australian sporting legend, epitomized by the song “Up There Cazaly”. He played for two football clubs - South Melbourne and St Kilda, with 99 games at each Club, and in 2009 was inducted as an inaugural member of the Sydney Swans Hall of Fame.
He has strong links with the Red and White. He coached South Melbourne in 1922, and won South’s most consistent player award in 1926. He was at the Club from 1921 to 1927, and was known for his ability to take spectacular high marks. One of his teammates, Fred ‘Skeeter’ Fleiter, would often yell, “Up There, Cazaly’’, starting a catch-cry that lives on today in football.
The Sydney Swans and CLUB SWANS are currently in positive discussion with Cazalys Cairns to explore potential synergies and to develop mutually beneficial partnerships for the future.
Question: Does the name change affect my membership?
Answer: Your CLUB SWANS membership will not be affected and you can continue to utilise your current membership card until the next membership renewal date for the Sydney Swans after which a Cazalys Sydney card will be issued in lieu of the current CLUB SWANS card.
Question: CLUB SWANS is our exclusive social home, especially for Swans matches. Will this change?
Answer: No, this will not change; Sydney Swans members will always have exclusivity for AFL broadcasts and events
Question: What is the timeframe for changing the name?
Answer: The name is approved by the members as a special resolution in the first instance, providing the Board with the approval to change the current trading name if it is considered in the best interests of the Club. Further approval is required from various regulatory authorities so the proposed name change would be completed in July / August this year.
Question: What if I have any questions regarding the proposed name change?
Answer: If you wish to ask any questions please forward your correspondence to info@clubswans.com.au
