Grey, and then orange, skies didn’t keep Swans fans from celebrating their team’s fourth consecutive win of the season at the SCG on Sunday afternoon.

Just over 21,000 fans turned out to the game, where the Swans continued their winning streak, defeating North Melbourne by 36 points.

In what was described by many as the Swans first four-quarter effort for the season, the Swans led at every change to take out the inaugural HeartKids Cup, which was accepted by Swans co-captain Jarrad McVeigh.

HeartKids was also a winner on the day, with the charity’s tins being filled around the ground thanks to the fans’ kind support of the childhood heart disease cause.

On field, there were celebrations for Swans fans early, with Gary Rohan kicking this team’s first goal in the opening minute of the match.

Those cheers then turned to silence as the 20-year-old went down with a season-ending injury just a minute later.

The Swans’ fans support was reignited when Rohan, as he was being stretchered off the ground, signalled a ‘thumbs up’ gesture to the crowd who responded with applause for the young player’s courage.

It was clear the Swans stepped it up a level, with speedy forward Lewis Jetta delighting fans with another three-goal haul, while terrific play by defenders Ted Richards and Rhyce Shaw kept North Melbourne’s stars Drew Petrie and Brent Harvey out of the match.

Swans first gamer Tony Armstrong also excited Swans fans, kicking his first goal for Sydney late in the match.

Armstrong’s excitement was evident as every Swans player on the field ran to his side to congratulate him for his efforts and Swans fans were on their feet in the stands.

Around the ground, there were plenty of activities for Swans fans both inside and outside the SCG.

Pre-match, supporters were treated to the premier football experience in the Steve Waugh Room at the Chairman’s Club function.

Corporate guests and football fans were treated to fine food, quality seating and entertainment from some very special celebrity guests.

Cricket legend and Swans supporter Richie Benaud was among the special guests, which also included Mike Coward and former tennis star Ken Rosewall.

Outside the ground, the Volkswagen Fan Zone was again a hit before the game, with hundreds of kids testing out their skills in the goal-kicking and handballing drills.

Swans fans will return to the SCG in a fortnight when the Swans take on Adelaide in round 6. The Chairman’s Club will also be back for the Crows game, with full information available here.
