Sydney Swans Chairman Andrew Pridham is excited by the position the Club is in having already blooded four debutants this season.

Elijah Taylor, Matt Ling, Chad Warner and Dylan Stephens have all made their debut just nine rounds into the season.

Pridham said despite a number of injury concerns this season there was plenty to be enthusiastic about.

“You are always bringing new players through and the zenith is to have the mix of young players and experienced players to get them to work together,” Pridham told SEN radio.

“Our challenge this year has been that a lot of our experienced players including Lance have been injured.

“Most of our forward line has been injured. Heeney is out for the season. Reid has been out. It causes a lot of hiccups in terms of game day but also our longer-term plans.

“We are pleased to be able to getting games into the younger kids and hopefully the older guys can keep playing the way they have been playing for the last decade for us.”

Sydney currently sits 14th on the ladder with three wins in the first eight rounds of the season, including some narrow losses to highly touted Essendon and Richmond.

Pridham said he was confident in the path his club was taking to return to the top of the ladder.

“AFL has a strong hold now and there is deep support for us (here in Sydney),” he said.

“It is important that we continue to be successful to keep the energy and momentum within the market place.

“We have no interest whatsoever and there is no tolerance (at our club) for losing simple because you can get better draft picks or you can build over five or six year.

“We have no interest in that.”

Sydney will take to the Gabba for the 5th annual Pride Game against St Kilda on Saturday afternoon.

Pridham is proud of what his Club has done to pioneer the charge when it comes to embracing the LGBTIQ community.

“It has been very important for us,”

“The Rainbow Swans have been fantastic, they are large in numbers and even larger in enthusiasm,”

“It has been an incredibly important initiative that alongside St Kilda we do every year and we are really pleased to be able to do it."
