Young Swans defender Campbell Heath will return to training with the playing group tomorrow morning after recovering from pre-season LARS knee surgery.

Heath ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee on January 21, and will remarkably resume training just a day short of three months later.

Club physiotherapist Matt Cameron told SwansTV that Heath was looking forward to getting back on the track, and that he may receive some company in the not too distant future.

“(Campbell) starts training tomorrow with the group, which he is really excited about, and Nick Malceski is maybe a week or two behind him,” he said.

Cameron said that forward Daniel Bradshaw resumed running last week and that his program of running every second day was going well.

In further good news, players such as Jarred Moore and Tadhg Kennelly who featured in the reserves last weekend, all got through unscathed with Cameron highlighting the bye this weekend as a great opportunity for them to further their training loads.

Cameron also saw this weekend’s bye as the perfect chance for some of the senior players to either overcome minor injuries or increase training.

“There are some of the senior players particularly, that accumulate some soreness and minor injuries, and we get right on top of those now. Conversely some of the guys who have been emergencies or substitutes, (the bye) is an opportunity for them to do some more training,” he said.
