The Sydney Swans will continue preparations to take on Richmond this Saturday at the MCG, with the team able train and play under the current NSW Health directive.

Swans players and football staff will able to attend the club’s Moore Park headquarters to train, but will abide by the stay at home orders (only leaving the house for essential reasons) outside of their training commitments.

The Swans were in Brisbane for the season opening clash on Saturday March 20, flying out the following morning.

Late on Monday, a public health order was issued instructing people who have been in Brisbane since March 20, and were now in NSW to limit non-essential activity until Thursday, April 1.

“It’s a very quick reminder that things can move pretty quickly,” Sydney Swans CEO Tom Harley said on SEN Breakfast this morning.

“I can say that we don’t have any people who have visited the key exposure sites listed on the on the NSW Health or Queensland Government websites,”

“We have become quite adaptable in this environment so the most important thing is that we will comply with the health authorities.

The Swans are due to face Richmond at the MCG on Saturday afternoon for their round three clash and Harley did not expect any impact on this fixture.

“We are preparing for that and are preparing to have a good week of training. What that looks like we will work our way through, but we are fully expecting to jump on a plane to take on the Richmond Tigers at the traditional timeslot on Saturday afternoon at the MCG.
