Sydney Swans vs Collingwood

Saturday May 15, SCG, 1.45pm

IN: Heeney, Hewett, Blakey

OUT: Gulden (foot), O'Riordan (omitted), Sinclair (omitted)

The Sydney Swans have made three changes to face Collingwood at the SCG on Saturday afternoon.

Isaac Heeney, George Hewett and Nick Blakey all come into the side for Round 9.

Errol Gulden is out of the side after reporting soreness in his foot following last week's game against Melbourne.

Gulden is being treated for a stress reaction in his foot and the club will manage this conservatively. He will be monitored over the next few weeks but it not expected to play before the Round 14 bye.

Callum Sinclair and Colin O'Riordan are the other omissions.

Coach John Longmire said it was terrific to have the trio of Heeney, Hewett and Blakey back in the side.

"It's great to have Isaac back, he is obviously an important player for us and we are looking forward to seeing what he can do, wherever he plays," Longmire said.

"George has played quite a bit of footy for us so it's good to get him back too. Nick can play a variety of different roles for us, he has that flexibility, we know he has some real speed and is dangerous in the air or on the ground."

The match will be defender Jordan Dawson's 50th AFL match, the 24-year made his debut against Collingwood in Round 3, 2017 and has since established a regular place in the Swans side.

"Milestones are important, they signify a lot of work and he's been a regular part of our team for the last couple of years and he is a really important player to us," Longmire said.

The Sydney Swans VFL side will also face Collingwood at the SCG tomorrow, with the VFL game a curtain closer, starting after the AFL match at 4.45pm.

Ruckman Sam Naismith will make a return to footy in the VFL after suffering his second ACL injury in three years in 2020.

"He hasn't played much footy over the last four or five years and he has been persevering after suffering a few setbacks," Longmire said.

"His last rehab stint has been fantastic, he has been doing a lot of training and has been working really hard to get back to play a half of footy. It will be a bit of taste so it's good to see him back."

For those fans not at the SCG, the AFL game will be live on Fox Sports, Kayo and Channel 7 with the VFL match streamed on Kayo Freebies.
