GO Foundation: Co-Founder James Gallichan, Chair Sonja Stewart, Mick, CEO Charlene and Adam at the 2021 Launch at the SCG

The Sydney Swans will celebrate Marn Grook at the SCG as part of the AFL’s Sir Doug Nicholls Round this week when they face Carlton on Sunday, May 30.

The match honours the Indigenous roots of Australian football and recognises the enduring contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players to the game.

As part of Round 11, our partner, the GO Foundation, will be our Match Day Partner, with the Swans to promote and support the GO Foundation and their work during the clash.

The GO Foundation was co-founded by Sydney Swans Legends, Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin and their friend James Gallichan in 2009 to empower young Indigenous Australians through education. As proud Aboriginal men, their names are synonymous with integrityequality and opportunity.

The GO Foundation’s scholarship program provides access, opportunity and wrap around support for Indigenous students on their learning journey through primary school, high school and university. To date the GO Foundation has awarded over 700 scholarships.

The Goodes-O’Loughlin medal is awarded to the best and fairest player for the Marn Grook game and will be awarded by Michael and Adam post-match.

The Goodes-O'Loughlin Medal features the blue and red colours of Sydney’s first Indigenous guernsey, designed by Goodes' mum Lisa Sansbury.
