Sydney Swans vs West Coast
Sunday June 4, 1:10pm AEST
IN: Nick Blakey, Sam Wicks
OUT: Kaiden Brand (omitted), James Rowbottom (managed)
Team updated Friday July 2, 5pm
The Sydney Swans team to face West Coast on Sunday afternoon at GMHBA Stadium has been confirmed.
Nick Blakey and and Sam Wicks return to the team in place of James Rowbottom (managed) and Kaiden Brand who are out of the upcoming Round 16 fixture.
The side will face a West Coast line up that suffered a 55-point loss to Western Bulldogs but senior coach John Longmire says the side will not be underestimating the opposition.
"West Coast played one of the best teams in the competition in the Western Bulldogs last week and they Bulldogs are playing really good footy," Longmire side.
"We know that West Coast had a couple of players back for the first time last week after missing a few weeks and they will be a lot better the next time around.
"They have a fantastic midfield led by a wonderful ruckman in Nic Naitanui so we will have to be really good and we need to bounce back as well."
Despite the loss last week, Longmire says the side still takes plenty of confidence into this clash.
"It was important to be able to go over last week in unusual circumstances and compete really hard against a really good team on their home deck.
"We did that and with five minutes to go, we had our noses in front but couldn't get it done so we need to make sure we give it a little bit more this week and get over the line.
"It is going to be a tough game, down in Geelong, in a home game that is a little bit different but we are really looking forward to the challenge."
The match kicks off at 1:10pm AEST at GMHBA Stadium, Geelong and will be broadcast live on Fox Footy and Kayo Sports.
