Premium partner of the Sydney Swans, Qatar Airways, has kick started the fundraising efforts for this Sunday's Swans Red Day for Redkite, buying 500 virtual kites and donating $5000 to the charity.

Qatar Airways have been a partner of the Sydney Swans for six years and has expressed interest in getting involved with the club’s charity partners. Redkite’s affiliation with the Swans and a fundraising effort for Red Day was a great way for Qatar Airways to show support of both the charity and the club.

Qatar Airways not only donated 500 kites for the virtual kite wall, they have also donated some of their in-game LED stadium branding for Redkite to further push the fundraising message.

Redkite will also run an online auction in October to continue the fundraising effort with Qatar Airways donating 2 return economy airfares to anywhere on their flight network around the world (with extended usage for when borders re-open).

Qatar Airways’ Vice President Australasia & North Asia, Mr.Thomas Scruby said he was thrilled to be involved in helping Redkite's fundraising for Swans Red Day.

“At Qatar Airways we have a longstanding relationship with the Sydney Swans, and we are strong advocates for the team’s many charitable initiatives. The annual Swans Red Day is a fantastic event which inspires the footy community to unite for a good cause.”

“This year is particularly significant given the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, Redkite has continued to support children with cancer and their families. We are honoured to be able to play a small part in this, and provide much-needed funds to support the valuable and critical work they do throughout the year.”?

General Manager of Fundraising at Redkite, Tatiana Isaacs thanked Qatar Airways for their support.

"We want to say a big thank you to Qatar Airways for the generosity they have shown Redkite through the Sydney Swans Red Day match.

"The $5,000 donation, LED advertising space and donation of flights to our fundraising auction later this year will contribute to the delivery of Redkite's essential support services to families facing childhood cancer."

There is still time to jump on board as Qatar Airways did and buy your virtual kite today.
