The Sydney Swans picked up young West Australian star Chad Warner with pick 39 at the 2019 AFL Draft. After a strong Under 18s season, he quickly earned his AFL debut against Richmond in Round 6 of the 2020 season. 2024 was his strongest season yet resulting in All Australian selection and place 11th overall in the Brownlow Medal with 23 votes. The fan favourite has placed in the top five of the Bob Skilton Medal for three consecutive years and in Round 16 of the 2025 season celebrated his 100th career game. Warner signed a contract extension in 2025, keeping him in the red and white until at least the end of the 2027 season.
