Defender Joel Hamling finds his fourth club at the Sydney Swans after a collective 12 seasons at the Geelong Cats, Western Bulldogs and Fremantle. The 32-year-old joined the red and white as an unrestricted free agent ahead of the 2023 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period after 91 career games. He was drafted by the Cats in 2011 with pick 32 but didn’t make his AFL debut until moving to the Dogs in 2015. He made his debut for the Swans in Round 1 of the 2025 season and went on to appear in 14 games. He re-signed with the club in September 2025, tying him to the red and white until at least the end of 2026.
