Off the back of a strong season in the VFL mature-age defender Riley Bice was recruited to the Sydney Swans on night two of the 2024 Toyota AFL Draft with pick 41. Hailing from the Albury Tigers and Werribee Football Club, the 25-year-old played an integral part in clinching the VFL premiership this year, averaging 21.1 disposals, 6.9 marks and 4.8 intercepts, earning him a spot in the 2024 Smithy’s VFL Team of the Year. He continued this form with the Swans, making his debut at the senior level in Round 1 of the 2025 season and earning the club’s Rising Star award in October. Bice was rewarded for an impressive maiden year with a contract extension until at least the end of 2028.
