Sydney Swans defender Riley Bice has been rewarded with a contract extension after an impressive debut season, tying him at the Sydney Swans until at least the end of 2028.

The 25-year-old was drafted to Sydney as a mature-age recruit with pick 41 in the 2024 AFL Draft, after a strong VFL season with Werribee.

He made his debut in Round 1 of the 2025 season, going on to play 16 games and taking home Sydney’s Rising Star award.

Known for his dash across half back and a precise left boot, Bice has already gained a cult following with the Swans faithful.

Bice said he’s grateful to the Swans for the contract extension.

“Since arriving at the club everyone has been so welcoming and I have loved my time here so far,” Bice said.

“I’m really excited about the year ahead and keen to work hard to be the best player I can and contribute to the team as much as I can.”

Sydney Swans Executive General Manager AFL Football, Leon Cameron, said Bice had impressed in his first year at the club.

“We’ve been really pleased with what we’ve seen from Riley and this extension is a great reward for his hard work,” Cameron said.

“His willingness to learn has been terrific and we are excited to have him recommit to the club and looking forward to seeing him continue to develop.”
