The Sydney Swans would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge the traditional custodians of our land this week and say thank you for everything they contribute to our game and our nation.

July 3-10 marks 2022 NAIDOC Week, a week to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.

The theme ‘Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!’ encourages all of us to champion change, while celebrating those who have already driven and led change in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities over generations.

As part of NAIDOC week celebrations at the club, players and staff enjoyed a morning tea on Monday morning and sampled some bush food including chocolate Wattleseed muffins, Lemon Myrtle Shortbread and kangaroo pies with bush tomato sauce.

Also present at the event was Aunty Beryl Van-Oploo the owner operator of the Tucker Box Project and Elder Uncle Shane Phillips,  CEO Tribal Warrior and Nathan Lovett, Tribal Warrior mentor Jacob and CEO National Indigenous Culinary Institute.
