Sydney will be without Robbie Fox for Sunday’s clash with West Coast at the SCG.

Fox has played in Sydney’s last five matches after forcing his way into the senior side in Round 7.

Head of Football Charlie Gardiner said Fox has an ankle injury.

“Robbie has had some ankle soreness for the last couple of weeks and he got a knock to his achillies, so has pulled up sore this week,” Gardiner said.

“We think he will need a week off to rest and recover so we expect he will miss this week.”

Josh Kennedy (knee) and Zak Jones (hamstring) are both expected to return after the bye as they continue to recover from injuries sustained in recent weeks.

“Josh was pushing to get back for this week’s game against West Coast but unfortunately he won’t get back,” Gardiner said.

“We have decided to take the extra week and the benefit of the bye and have him ready to go against Hawthorn in Round 14.

“Zak is progressing really well. He did some running with the squad and is another one we expect to be ready after the bye.”

Youngster Matt Ling has had another setback and suffered a foot injury – he’s expected to miss the next month of football.
