The Sydney Swans will start their 2023 VFL season when they host the Box Hill Hawks at Lakeside Oval on Sunday morning.

Members and fans will also be able to see a majority of our new draftees in action for the first time, including Caleb Mitchell, Cameron Owen, and Jaiden Magor, while Jacob Konstanty has not been named as he continues to recover from injury.

Marc Sheather will also don the red and white for the first time are a long lay-off with a footy injury, and will look to bring his athleticism amongst a dynamic forward line.

The match will also see Damian Truslove enjoy his first official outing as head coach, with the mentor quickly earning the respect of his team-mates throughout a following pre-season period.

Meanwhile, Will Collis has been named captain of the side, leading a strong contingent of VFL regulars in Harry Morrison, Jake Bartholomaeus, Nic Shipley and Jake Veale is part of the leadership group.
