Senior Coach John Longmire has made two changes ahead of Round 16 as we take on Geelong at the SCG this Friday night with Will Hayward and Robbie Fox returning.

Hayward was a late out in last week's clash with the West Coast Eagles after suffering from illness. Meanwhile Fox served as an emergency in Round 15, coming on for Callum Mills in the final quarter. 

Young midfielder Chad Warner will miss this week's home clash after sustaining a calf injury ahead of training on Thursday. Longmire explained that Warner felt tight in his calf during the team's warm up and a scan revealed a "slight tear".

"It's not something we expected so unfortunately he will be missing," he added.

Tom McCartin isn't expected to return to senior football this week after playing a time limited match in the VFL last week.

"We’ve discussed what best preparation is going forward and we felt that he needed another VFL game to make sure his match fitness is ready to go," Longmire explained. 

Star forward Lance Franklin will also miss Round 16 as he returns from knee soreness. 

The Swans will return to the SCG after a historic 171-point win over the West Coast Eagles in Round 15.

Despite the record-breaking win, Longmire says the team has it sights placed firmly on the upcoming match, adding that the red and white must play to their strengths.

"Geelong are a very good team and they’ve got some really experienced players back in the team this week as well," he said. 

"It's about making sure we try and doe what we want to do as well. Getting that balance right is important."
