Football players are generally creatures of habit.

Our training and playing schedule is set out months ahead of time, so we know pretty  much where we’re expected to be, and what we’re doing, at any given time.

We like to do the same things week after week, and if anyone tries to muck it up or change it around, there can be trouble!

I definitely like my routine. I don’t like to change too much before a game, and do the same things every game day.

My wife knows that I don’t really talk to her too much on the day of the game so she kind of vacates the house. She goes out shopping…

I always go to the same place for breakfast before a game and I always have parmesan scrambled eggs.

And then I like to go straight home and relax at home and do a few chores, and have a swim in the pool in our apartment complex. But I don’t really leave the house at all until I have to.

I really prefer night games, it’s a better feeling for me.The only downside is you have to wait all day, and you don’t get to bed until about 3 or 4am after a night game.

There are many hours spent watching the soccer or any other sport I can find on tv, but not footy, because I’m footied-out by then.

I always wear the same swimmers under my shorts, and I wear the same shorts, same socks, same tights, and that won’t change all season. They’re kept in a separate spot just for game day gear.

If we’re playing at the SCG, I walk to the ground, as I will before we take on Brisbane under lights.

If we’re playing away, we all have specific seats on the bus. If you get on and a young guy is in your seat he gets thrown aside pretty quickly. It's not about older players pulling rank, it's just that no-one wants to change a winning way.

Mick O’Loughlin used to sit at the front of the bus every week and Roosy was sitting there one day and he actually kicked Roosy out of the seat!

Now Goodesy and Ryan are in the front two seats. I’m always next to Lewis Roberts-Thomson on the bus and Nick Malceski is behind me, and Kirky and Craig Bolton are up the back of the bus.

Unfortunately Craig won’t be on the bus, or on the field, for about two months. It’s not ideal but Teddy Richards gets his chance and hopefully not too much will change because we know what Teddy can do and he is quite versatile.
