Cheer this - we are opening the show for the 2024 NAB AFLW season against Collingwood in Friday night footy at North Sydney Oval.

The AFLW season kicks off in the AFL pre-finals bye with the Sydney Swans to take on Collingwood in the season opener at 7:15pm on Friday, August 30.

Swans fans in Melbourne will have their first chance to catch our women's team down south when we take on St Kilda in a Round 2 match at RSEA Park in Moorabbin on Sunday, September 8. It's one of three matches the team is set to play in Melbourne.

Then we're set to travel to a familiar hub at Coffs Harbour in Round 3 for our next home match. It's an exciting opportunity for our regional members and fans to see elite footy in action, after Coffs has been home to pre-season training camps for both our men's and women's programs, as well as a key hub for both our QBE Sydney Swans Academy and our ARA First Nations Foundations program.

Next, we return to Sydney for a derby clash with the GWS Giants at Henson Park, an iconic Marrickville oval in the heart of Sydney's Inner West. Can we secure another win over our cross-town rivals?

For the first time teams will play an 11-game season with an additional game on either a Tuesday or Wednesday for Mid-Week Footy. For Sydney, Round 6 will feature two games, a Wednesday night hitout against Essendon before a Sunday afternoon blockbuster at Henson Park against Geelong, in what will mark Pride Game in Sydney ahead of the league's Pride Round in Round 7.

Another highlight on the AFLW calendar, Indigenous Round, will take place during Rounds 9 and 10. We're set to host Marn Grook against the West Coast Eagles at our last home game of the regular season in Round 10. Dates for that match will be confirmed at a later date.

This year marks our third AFLW season after our women's team secured its first win and first finals series last year, and we can't wait to see what 2024 will bring.

Preseason begins on Monday, June 3 with members and fans invited to open training from 2:30pm at Tramway Oval.

The fixture release comes after it was announced AFLW head coach Scott Gowans would remain in red and white until at least the end of 2027.
