Footy fans were left in awe over the weekend when Sydney Swans VFL player Jordan Endemann kicked an incredible goal which could could lay claims to be the longest ever.

Endemann kicked the unbelievable major in Sydney's VFL match against Coburg on Saturday afternoon.

His kick launched from the backline and bounced through for an extraordinary goal that one fan has estimated may have travelled as far as 109 metres.

Endemann, 21, was part of the QBE Sydney Swans Academy and has played for Sydney's VFL side since 2022.

Speaking to Sydney Swans Media, VFL head coach Jarrad McVeigh shared his reaction to the remarkable kick.

"It was an amazing kick, clearly, the wind was going that way, so we obviously wanted to get the ball in pretty quickly and certainly didn't think it would go that far," McVeigh said.

"He just put it on the boot and the wind got it and it kept rolling and rolling and rolling, it was fantastic.

"Unfortunately for the boys, they couldn't find him because Jordy actually ran straight off the field for a rotation, so they couldn't celebrate too much, but yeah, a pretty amazing kick in the end."

Sydney kicked the opening three goals of the game, but Coburg proved too strong, claiming a 32-point win.

McVeigh said having greater consistency across a full four quarters continued to be a focus for the team.

"You can't question our effort, which has been fantastic, but our last quarters and our ability to keep our run and to limit the opposition's uncontested possessions fell away in those last quarters," McVeigh said.

"So we've been working really hard over the last month on trying to get our game plan, our connection, and our trust with our roles.

"I think we've really improved that in the last three weeks, but it's just that competing part for four quarters, which has let us down."

Draftee Jesse Datoli made his first official appearance for the red and white, making a successful return from a stress fracture in his back, which had kept him on the sidelines since December.

"We just wanted to get him into the game, get him back playing, and just have a bit of fun, he's had a fair time off from footy, but he trained really hard to get himself into this position," McVeigh said.

"He basically played half a game through forward and then just through the midfield just to get his hands on the ball.

"He looks like he's got good time and space with ball in hand and understands when to get in and out of traffic, which was pleasing.

"We just want him to build from here on in and hopefully a lot more game time this week and keep working on his craft."

Forward Jack Buller impressed, providing a target up forward and kicking two goals from 16 disposals.

"It was his best game for a while actually, he's been working on his forward craft and when to use his body and when to launch at the ball," McVeigh said.

"That was one of his better games over the past month, and really pleasing for him because he's been working on his game, he was a strong focal point for us throughout the game, so it's been pleasing."
