Cox: "We need to make sure we keep putting our best foot forward, keep winning"
Sydney senior coach Dean Cox spoke to the media on Thurdsday, ahead of Friday night's Sydney Derby. Cox confirmed the return of a fan favourite and discussed what it would take to get the win over the Giants.
"That's all we can look at (the next game), we need to make sure we keep putting our best foot forward, keep winning - and the boys are prepared to have a real crack at a team that's won five in a row and a really good football team," Cox said.
Campbell: "It's just a massive week for the club, and both clubs really look forward to it"
Sydney utlity Braeden Campbell appeared in a press conference alongside GWS' Jack Buckley on Tuesday. Speaking about the growing up playing AFL in Sydney, Campbell said playing in the derby was something the team always looked forward to.
"Yeah, obviously being from Sydney it's something that I've always watched as a kid and always dreamt of playing and it's just a massive week for the club and both clubs really look forward to it, all the players do, all the fans do, and from my own perspective it's something that I've always wanted to do is play these derbies and it's something that I always look forward to every year," Campbell said.
ARA First Nations Academy wrap up tour of the Top End
Last week, a contingent of boys and girls from our club’s ARA First Nations Academy began an eight-day tour in the Top End, as part of a cultural development program.
Reflecting on the trip, Sydney Swans Manager – First Nations Strategy & Player Development Jarred Hodges said the trip was focused on the next generation.
“I think the week blends into the NAIDOC Week theme and that it's all about the next generation. This week was purely about our next generation, not only athletically but personally and I think across the week we've seen tremendous growth in both areas, I'm sure those participants will go away with fond memories,” Hodges said.
