Sydney Swans AFLW senior coach Scott Gowans has named his side to take on Adelaide at Unley Oval on Sunday.

Ally Morphett won't make the trip south, the ruck sustaining a minor calf injury at training during the week. Midfielder Ruby Sargeant-Wilson also comes out of the side due to injury, while defender Ash Van Loon has been omitted.

As confirmed earlier this afternoon, Sarah Steele-Park will make her AFLW debut on Sunday. The 29-year-old was drafted to the Harbour City with pick 61 in the 2024 Telstra AFLW Draft, after she impressed as a train-on player and the team’s runner.

Speaking to Sydney Swans Media, Gowans said the message to the team this week was about "belief and focus".

"We have to take a bit of confidence in the way we play and go over there and just try and give it our best and that's all you can ask for the team," Gowans said.

"We've been good in patches this year, started the season well, but obviously dropped off in the last two weeks.

"So we just need to get back to that belief and focus on the way we want to play and take it to them. Sometimes when you're punched in the face, you've got to throw a punch back harder, so that's what we're planning to do."

Sydney takes on Adelaide at 3:05pm (local) on Sunday, at Unley Oval.
