Swans welcome Malcolm Rosas Jnr

On Tuesday, we welcomed Malcolm Rosas Jnr to the club in a trade with the Gold Coast Suns.

We received Rosas Jr and selection 62 in the upcoming National Draft, and the Gold Coast received pick 51 and selection 69. The trade was completed on day two of the 2025 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.

Rosas Jnr has played 49 games for the Gold Coast Suns, since being drafted with pick 37 in the 2019 rookie draft and will add some speed and excitement to our front half.

Sydney Swans welcome back Malceski

Earlier this week, it was confirmed that we have appointed past Premiership player and Swans Hall of Famer Nick Malceski as our VFL Head Coach.

Sydney Swans Executive General Manager, AFL Football, Leon Cameron said Malceski’s coaching experience would be an asset to the club’s coaching department.

“It’s great to welcome a quality person like Nick back to the club,” Cameron said.

“He has values that align with the direction of our footy program and he has a wealth of coaching experience under his belt.

“We are looking forward to him coaching our VFL side and having a big hand in the development of our players.”

Gowans: “It hasn't actually been an issue getting the team up. They're very motivated, and they just want to improve"

AFLW senior coach Scott Gowans spoke to the media on Wednesday, ahead of the side's Pride Round clash with Carlton on Sunday.

"Our theme for this week is the finals start this week, and we consider it a knockout final, and that's what we want to do," Gowans said.

"We want to have that pressure and we want to cope with that pressure because that is part of the learning.

"So yeah, we tackle Carlton and Henson in front of a big crowd, Pride Round and just hit them hard as we can, playing our way."

QBE Academy: Super 24s take over Coffs Harbour

The 2025 Super 24 Series has wrapped up in Coffs Harbour on Thursday afternoon.

The best talent across the NSW region in the QBE Sydney Swans Academy and GWS Giants Academy battled it out over the past three days.

It was a successful few days for the QBE Swans Academy, winning 8 of 12 games across U13, U14 and U15 divisions for both girls and boys. Alongside the victories, there was plenty of development and learnings for all participants.
