The Sydney Swans have welcomed reigning VFL premiership coach Stewart Edge to its recruiting department.
Edge will join the club’s South Melbourne office as a recruiting officer in February, working alongside Head of List Strategy Chris Keane and National Recruiting Manager John Giramondo.
He joins the red and white after 10 years in development roles with the Western Bulldogs, including five years at the helm of the club’s reserves side.
Edge led Footscray to the VFL Premiership in 2025 and was named VFL coach of the year for a second time.
Edge said he was looking forward to a new opportunity with the Swans.
“Recruiting is something I’ve always wanted to progress into after coaching, and I think it will be a fantastic challenge,” Edge said.
“There’s always so much satisfaction in watching young guys, whether they’re early picks or more left-field, progress and achieve their goals to play at the highest level.
“The existing list is really exciting, and the challenge is to sustain the list quality and add to, which I’m looking forward to being involved in.”
