Sydney Swans HQ hosted the launch of the NSW Australian Football Heritage Association's latest publication, the NSW Australian Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday.

The 100-page book includes a profile and image of all 100 inductees into AFL NSW’s inaugural Hall of Fame in 2024.
John Longmire, Sydney Swans Executive Director- Club Performance, was on hand to launch the book, as an inaugural inductee into the NSW Hall of Fame.

Current Swans assistant coaches and former AFL stars Brett Kirk and Mark McVeigh, both inaugural inductees into the NSW Hall of Fame, were on a panel along with Sydney First Nations Academy development coach Maurice Goolagong.

The event was hosted by former Swans player and NSW Hall of Fame inductee Neil Cordy, who provided guests with insight into the panellist's stories and explore their connection to NSW football.

Longmire said it was a privilege to be involved in the book launch.

"It was a fantastic morning to celebrate the launch of the NSW Australian Football Heritage Association's new book, and to reflect on some really fond memories," Longmire said.

"It was a great opportunity to discuss on the growth of AFL in this state and the book's editorial team did a great job of capturing the essence of the honourees involvement in the game."

Longmire shared his own strong connections to NSW through his grandfather Walter who represented the state at the 1927 national carnival in Melbourne. Three generations of Longmires have subsequently played for NSW at school, youth and/or state level.

The book can be purchased from the Heritage Association for $50 including postage. Those interested in purchasing a book can email admin@nswfootballhistory.com.au
