Chloe Molloy steps down as Sydney Swans AFLW co-captain
On Wednesday, it was announced that Sydney Swans star Chloe Molloy has decided to step down as co-captain of the AFLW team for the 2026 season.
Molloy, who has played 69 games including 22 for the Swans, said it had been a privilege to lead the squad for three seasons, but the time was right to step away.
“It’s not lost on me how much of an honour and privilege it’s been to co-captain this club alongside Lucy for the past three seasons,” Molloy said.
“I have loved what the role has taught me, how it’s challenged me and made me better. To help shape this group and lead it to our first ever win and finals campaign is something I’ll always be proud of."
Injury Update: Rampe sidelined
On Tuesday it was revealed that Dane Rampe will be sidelined for a month. He was managed last week but reported calf soreness and upon further investigation has a calf strain and will miss the next month of footy.
Meanwhile, Matt Roberts is currently working through a short, targeted rehabilitation block to address and manage his groin soreness, gradually rebuilding load tolerance and ensuring he can return to full training without aggravation.

Swans AFLW in Coffs Harbour
The Swans AFLW team will return north to our home away from home for a home fixture on Saturday, August 29, against St Kilda. The early fixture news was announced on Tuesday night, while the team was in the region for their pre-season AFLW Community Camp.
Over three days from May 18 to 20, Swans players and staff engaged with local schools, junior football clubs and community groups in the region. An open training session was held on the Wednesday morning, where fans had the opportunity to meet the players and get autographs and photos.
Grundy polls perfect 10 from coaches
Sydney Swans ruckman Brodie Grundy was rewarded with a perfect 10 votes from the coaches after his best-on-ground display against Collingwood last Friday night.
Grundy, who now moves into the top 5 of the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award, produced arguably his best performance of the season with 34 disposals, one goal, 46 hitouts, 12 clearances and six score involvements.
