Sydney Swans star Isaac Heeney has moved into the top four in the race for the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award, after polling a perfect 10 votes from the coaches following the red and white’s victory over St Kilda.
Heeney starred with 30 disposals, six tackles, eight clearances and two goals.
Fellow midfielder Chad Warner was recognised for his influence with four votes. The Swans ball-magnet collecting 29 disposals in addition to 522 metres gained and booting two goals.
Match-winner Jai Serong polled three votes, after he finished the match with 28 disposals and eight marks.
The AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award is an award voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort by an individual player in a season.
