Sydney Swans star Chloe Molloy has been named to represent her country in the upcoming NAB AFLW Australia v Ireland match.

Molloy was named as part of the full 25-player Australian squad set to take on Ireland at North Sydney Oval on Saturday, 1 August.

27-year-old Molloy joins fellow Swan Zippy Fish in the Australian squad, with the pair to take on club teammates Paris McCarthy and Tanya Kennedy who will represent Ireland.

Molloy has played 69 AFLW games in total, having crossed to the Sydney Swans at the end of Season 7. Since pulling on the red and white jumper she has taken her game to a new level, playing 22 matches and booting 39 goals in the Harbour City.

NAB AFLW Australia v Ireland will bring together some of the competition’s biggest stars and emerging talent to celebrate the continued growth of women’s football and the strong connection between AFLW and Ireland.

The match will be played under Australian Football rules, using a classic Sherrin football, and will mark the first AFLW representative fixture since the one-off contest between Victoria and the Allies in 2017.
