The Sydney Swans’ night of nights to officially unveil the 2012 playing list is almost upon us for another year.
Being held at The Westin Hotel on Monday, March 12, this year’s Guernsey Presentation will have a slightly different significance to it with a number of former players being inducted into the Swans’ Hall of Fame.
Last year, Brownlow Medallist Peter Bedford was elevated to Bloods Legend status at the event, while 2005 premiership heroes Brett Kirk, Michael O’Loughlin, Leo Barry and coach Paul Roos were inducted.

Last year, in his maiden speech as co-captain of the Swans, Jarrad McVeigh spoke about the significance of not only putting on the red and white guernsey but what it means to play in it.
It was a memorable moment that set the tone for the players as they progressed to the second week of the finals.
“For the new players tonight you are realising your dream is starting to evolve,” McVeigh said at the 2011 Swans Guernsey Presentation night.
“The hours spent training and playing as a boy, the hard work of honing your skills to give yourself this opportunity, the effort of our families to drive us around the country in the hope of one day playing in the AFL, you now have that opportunity and now is where the real hard work starts.
“For the older players it means your hard work and commitment over the years is paying off.
“It’s easy to talk about commitment but what’s hard is to actually commit. We still have the hunger and the passion to drive this team to be the best.
“Each player on this stage has talent but what is going to set you and us apart from the rest?
"If you want to be a part of it, get on board, otherwise we will leave you behind. There’s been 1366 players play for the Bloods. Who wants to be next?”
