The Sydney Swans have recorded its highest-ever AFLW home attendance in one season, with 33,844 supporters flocking to Swans AFLW games in 2026.

With one home match still to come, the Swans have already surpassed their total AFLW attendance record from last year by 25 per cent and lead the competition with an average home crowd of 6,769 attendees per game.

The introduction of the AFL/AFLW double headers was an overwhelming success, with league-wide attendance across the opening two rounds doubling in 2026 from last year. Sydney’s record crowd of 16,672 at its Round 2 double-header at the SCG smashed the previous benchmark of 8,264 set at its inaugural game at North Sydney Oval in 2022.

It was followed by a record-breaking Sydney Derby, with 7,340 through the gates, a new record for AFLW at Henson Park.

Sydney will host its final home match for the regular season this Sunday against the West Coast Eagles at Henson Park, with the Club aiming to surpass 40,000 total attendees for the season.

The attendance growth has coincided with a strong season on the field, with the Swans holding a 7-3 record heading into the final two matches of the home and away season, as the team pushes towards its second ever finals appearance.

Sydney Swans CEO Matthew Pavlich said Swans supporters could help cement the season as the biggest and most attended in the Club's AFLW history.

“The support we've seen for our AFLW team this season has been extraordinary, and the Club continues to set a high standard for the growth of the game in Sydney. To have already surpassed last year's total attendance by 25 per cent with another home game still to come, is a fantastic achievement,” Pavlich said.

"Our members and fans have created a genuine home ground advantage at both Henson Park and the SCG throughout the season and the side is playing an exciting brand of footy under coach Colin O’Riordan.

“The success of double-headers is evident and we're in discussions with the AFL on how we can expand on that success next season. We would love to see more opportunities for our members and fans to watch both teams on the same day.

"We've already seen record-breaking crowds this year, and now our supporters have the chance to help make history again by pushing us beyond 40,000 attendees for the season on Sunday.”
