The Sydney Swans have made one late change ahead of Saturday's elimination final against Essendon with Lewis Melican coming out of the side.

Melican was withdrawn from the side after suffering some tightness in his quad and has been replaced by Harry Cunningham.

Senior Assistant coach Stuart Dew said Cunningham would add some versatility to the side.

“Lewis Melican has a tight quad and Harry Cunningham comes into the side," Dew confirmed to SwansTV.

"It is a little unfortunate for Lewis as he has worked hard to get his spot in the side this season but he just didn't get up for the game.

"When it is Harry up against a couple of others we go with him because he can play down back, wing or up forward."

Essendon made no late changes and will enter the match as selected.
