The resumption of the QBE Sydney Swans Academy programs marks a key stage in the development pathway of the Under 15 Youth Girls squad.

For the remainder of term three, the young female players in the QBE Sydney Swans Academy will be monitored closely as they hope to be selected for Benchmark training which will take place in November.

Following the Benchmark training period, a squad of approximately 40 players will form the QBE Sydney Swans Academy's Top-End Youth Girls program, which is designed for players who have the requisite skill, athleticism and desire to become elite footballers in the AFLW competition.

Upon entering this high performance environment, there is a considerable increase in the expectations placed upon players and discipline required of them, as they complete tailored running, strength and football programs and adhere to load management protocols.

Following the formation of the squad, the QBE Sydney Swans Academy coaches will have two or three years to prepare the Top-End girls for the AFLW draft, with this time frame being in line with the Sydney Swans entering a team in the AFLW national competition.

The QBE Sydney Swans Academy is looking forward to working with a squad of talented and driven young women as they strive to play football at the highest level.
