The QBE Sydney Swans Academy’s senior girls squad will face the GWS Giants Academy once again this Saturday, February 27 as they head to Ainslie Oval, Canberra for their second practice match ahead of the season.

After creating history on Sunday, running out for the first time in red and white and securing victories in both games, the Under 17 and Under 19 teams will again face their cross-town rivals this weekend.

The Under 17 game will start at 11.30am, with the Under 19 game following at 1:30pm with both matches to be live streamed.

The QBE Sydney Swans Academy has been expanded this year to include 80 young women aged 16 to 19. The 2021 girls program now mirrors the long-running boys program, developing players aged from 11 to 19. 

In 2021, 326 female athletes will participate in the QBE Sydney Swans Academy. Of those, 224 will participate in the Youth Girls program (U12 to U15 age groups) and 92 in the new Top End program (U16 to U19 age groups).
