Jessica Doyle will captain the U19 Academy side this weekend

QBE Sydney Swans Academy Head Coach Jared Crouch will lead the combined Allies team in the AFLW Under 19 National Championships in Melbourne next week.

The Allies first game will be against Western Australia on Monday April 12 at Chirnside Park in Watton St, Werribee at 2.30pm.

They will back up against South Australia next Thursday April 15, with the match to be played at Trevor Barker Oval in Beach Rd, Sandringham at 12.15pm.

Crouch recently coached the inaugural Swans Academy U19 female team to stirring wins over the Giants Academy U19 team, and the Geelong Falcons in a NAB League game in Victoria.

Following those matches, six players from the Swans Academy were selected for the Allies, alongside players from the Giants U19 squad, the Northern Territory and Tasmania.

The Swans players selected are Academy co-captain Jess Doyle (picture) from the Pittwater Tigers on Sydney's northern beaches; Ruby Sargent-Wilson from Wollongong club, Southern Power; Maddy Hendrie from UNSW Bulldogs; Isadora McLeay from the North Shore club in Sydney; Ella Heads from the Inner West Magpies, and April Devine from Coffs Harbour in northern NSW.

The players met their Allies team-mates in Melbourne on Friday and are taking part in a training camp over the weekend.

Crouch said he was looking forward to helping the girls quickly get to know each other.

"From my experience with our Academy players, I know they're very willing to learn and they're not daunted by taking on big challenges,'' Crouch said.

"We'll work on a simple game plan and make sure we build team spirit in the time we have together ahead of our two matches.

"I know the girls are really excited about playing in the national championships and taking on the best young talent in the country.''
