The Sydney Swans are saddened by the recent passing of Annie Snowdon, wife of former General Manager of Football Operations, Rob Snowdon (OAM).

Annie was a significant part of the club for over the 13 years and is remembered for her work behind the scenes, particularly welcoming and supporting new players to Sydney.

Sydney Swans Champion Michael O’Loughlin said Annie was a much-loved member of the Swans family.

“Annie was instrumental for the young players who were drafted to Sydney, providing a home away from home for myself and many others,” O’Loughlin said.

"She did a lot of work behind-the-scenes and will be remembered as an incredibly kind-hearted person."

Sydney Swans Hall of Fame Tony Morwood echoed O’Loughlin’s sentiments.

“For young players, especially those who were moving to Sydney, she was a mother figure who was always there for them,” Morwood said.

"Rob and Annie’s house was just full of young Swans kids coming down and staying for as long as they needed to.

“They had their own children, Amy and Sam, but I think that they just loved having the boys around and it was was a role that was incredibly important to the fabric of our club."

The club extends its deepest condolences to Rob, Amy, Sam, and their family and friends.
