Scans have confirmed that Sydney Swans co-captain Dane Rampe suffered a fracture to his hand in Saturday’s win over Hawthorn at the SCG.

Rampe sustained the injury early in the second quarter but bravely played out the match, finishing with 25 disposals.

The No. 24 will undergo surgery on Monday and remains a chance to line up against St Kilda in Saturday’s Pride Game at the Gabba.

After the match coach John Longmire said of Rampe: “He’s tough. He’s just a good player. He competes hard and kept going.”
