Sydney Swans co-captain Luke Parker has become the eighth Swans Brownlow Medal centurion as he topped the club vote count on Sunday night.

Parker polled 15 votes in the virtual count to finish equal fifth overall behind Brisbane’s runaway winner Lachie Neale (31), taking Parker’s career vote tally to 109. It takes him sixth on the Sydney Swans’ all-time vote list.

Parker went past Paul Kelly (103) and Dan Hannebery (106 at Sydney) and now trails only Bob Skilton (180), Adam Goodes (163), Josh Kennedy (138), Ron Clegg (121) and Herbie Matthews (117).

It was the sixth time Parker has polled in double figures and, on a pro-rata basis in the shortened season, was his second-best year behind his 26 votes in 2016 when runner-up to Patrick Dangerfield.

And it was the third time Parker has led the Swans count after he did so in 2016 and 2019. Only Skilton, Goodes, Kelly, Matthews, Clegg, Greg Williams and Barry Round have done so more often.
