Sydney Swans midfielder Isaac Heeney has polled the perfect 10 votes from the coaches following the side's thrilling victory over Port Adelaide, moving into outright second in the race for the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award.

Heeney was one of five Swans to poll votes in the three point victory, with teammates Callum Mills, Jai Serong, Logan McDonald and Brodie Grundy also polling.

Heeney had a game give 30 disposals, nine contested possessions, four tackles, nine score involvements and one goal. 

Captain Callum Mills was a prolific ball-winners with 29 disposals, five tackles, four clearances to earn three votes, while fellow defender Jai Serong, fresh off his match-winning goal performance, earned three votes with 19 disposals.

Logan McDonald (three goals, 18 disposals) and Brodie Grundy (22 hit outs, 26 disposals, nine clearances) had one vote each.

Following the perfect 10 votes, Heeney sits outright second with 69 votes for the season behind Collingwood's Nick Daicos (74 votes) and in front of Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli (68 votes). Geelong's Max Holmes (63) and Fremantle's Luke Jackson (60 votes) round out the top five on the leaderboard.

Brodie Grundy has 45 votes for the season to sit just outside the top 10.

The AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award is an award voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort by an individual player in a season.
